  1. priapism is always an indication of spinal injury due to irregular nerve activity.

  2. Wait a minute! Phototherapy (bililight) therapy is used on newborns. Newborn males typically have recurrent erections, probably due to an immature nervous system. The condition persists throughout infancy and well into toddlerhood. This is not priapism, a persistent and often painful erection. You will note the same condition in infant males who are not under the bililights.

  3. Perhaps these two things vasodilates (that is, widen up) the blood vessels in the p***s in a way that it not only grows larger, but also, this enlarged condition could last up to 4 hours or a little more.

  4. Priapism, in addition to being a result of spinal cord injury, is also a rare (and thankfully, temporary) side effect of the ED drugs, such as Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis.  Where did you read that it is a side effect of bili light/phototherapy?

  5. Priaprism is caused by vascular and neurological complications. Medications such as anti-coagulants, anti-hypertensives, and antidepressants are responsible for most cases of priaprism. I was unaware of this side effect from light therapy. If the light therapy was prescribed for the treatment of a depressive illness and antidepressants were also prescribed, it could certainly create a problematic situation.
