  1. Winning isn't everything. If you kept winning after winning what you get? I everytime win. So I am bored. Some times (50%) I let the challenger win. If you won't lose how you will be interested? You know?, some games you should lose to get awards.(eg: Tekken5 ps2)

  2. I play poker and gamble a lot...its a lifestyle....you win money, you lose money....but really i just play for the game, the strategy, psychology, ect....and really the other things I have going in my life are far more important that winning in gambling

  3. to be strong, a persons ego must be able to remain secure in all situations. it must be tested in all environments and emotions.

it is easy to be happy if you are getting what you want all the time. a real test of character is when someone can remain at peace even when they do not have what they want.

  4. Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

There is no substitute for winning.

  5. You could argue that the process if just as fun as winning. For instance, I have fun playing poker for the heck of and do not mind losing but not too much. :)

  6. winning is everything...u kno wut they say-win or go home

  7. Acceptable losses:  If one is obsessed with the sole purpose of "I'm going to win no matter what" then they will likely disappoint themselves.  We will all lose at one time or another but it is about acceptance.

Life is not about how to ride out the storm but how to dance in the rain.

  8. If you are going to play a game then winning is everything, or why play?  Is it fair to your opponent to not try?

  9. couple ideas:

    1. There's good ways and bad ways to win. if you cheat to win, is that still winning? also, if you are caught, the consequences can be worse than losing (e.g. marion jones.)

    2. A common expression in sports now: the first step to failure is success. Before a team wins, they are hungry and more likely to sacrifice. afterwards, everybody wants to take credit for it, they get selfish, and they don't work as hard (e.g. 2007 pittsburg steelers.)

    3. sometimes, to win, people sacrifice too much. tiger woods often says he regrets how hard he had to work when he was a child, and how little time he actually spent being a child and enjoying his childhood. i think there are many tennis players, gymnasts, golfers, etc. who would share this story.

    4. People hate a winner. when you are a winner, everybody tries harder against you, and expectations are high that you will continue to suceed. one former bronco player was talking about the 2nd superbowl, and afterwards, there was just an overwhelming sense of relief that they didn't blow it. to win, and then to fail, makes the failure that much worse.

    5. winning, to some people, is about not failing. people who are depressed are often losers who are unable to grasp that they are losers. Until they do, they will always be losers.
