  1. First off, Medicaid is NOT free.  Everyone around you is paying for it.

Because if you can pay for your childs medical insurance, the rest of us (taxpayers) shouldn't have to bear the cost of it.  Medicaid is supposed to be a last resort for people that don't have any other option.

  2. your insurance would be considered the primary insurance company for your daughter, medicaid will only pick up copays and deductibles if there are any.  Maybe she can't afford the deductible's on your plan, i mean you don't want your child not to recieve treatment because the mother couldn't afford the deductible on your plan,  i mean people on here is criticizing, but have they seen some of the deductibles with these insurance plans, it's almost ridiculous, i feel sorry for the patients that come into my office near tears because they can't afford it, you want to give your child the best care possible. so my suggestion to you is to keep her on the insurance, it for the kid not the mother.  good luck and hope this helps

  3. Medicaid is free to the parent, but geez, it costs your STATE money.

If you are willing and able to pay the insurance, then why don't you do it so it will be freeing up some money to the STATE to help someone else who doesn't have the resources available to pay their own insurance?????????

  4. If you can prove that you have medical coverage for your child ( your human resources director should be able to get that for you) and you can prove that your child is on medicaid ( social services should be able to help you with that) you can go back to child support court and inform the judge that you have been following the order to maintain health insurance coverage for you child and that you have been paying the premiums every week yet your ex chooses to utilize medicaid instead. The judge will most likely order your ex to start using the health insurance that you provide. Another option is you can go down to social services and make them aware that your child has adequate health coverage through your employer and does not need medicaid. They will be more than happy to cancel the medicaid. A judge will never allow you to stop providing health care and let the child receive medicaid instead. But you can make sure that the health insurance you are provinding is actually being used.

  5. I think because Medicaid is supposed to be a last resort, if they have another insurance option they are suppose to use that. And I would think if you pay for insurance the custodial parent should have to help pay the out of pocket cost. Usually all of this is addressed in the parenting agreement. If you do not have one yet maybe you should get one in place and take care of these issues.

  6. Maybe You should try to google it first ,nonetheless, if you prefer some direct resource ,here might be helpful.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  7. Because Medicaid is supposed to be there as a back up not meant as a lifetime health benefit.  If health insurance is available to one or the other parent they need to be responsible and take advantage of their health plan and quit trying to live off the state.  That is only teaching you children that is okay then when does it stop.  The state just continues to pay for every ones children because they are to lazy to get a job and use their employers health benefits not eactly what I want to teach my children.  My children have been on Medicaid before and I am not ashamed to get help when I need it.  But as soon as situations change then I can continue to raise and support my children without depending on the state.

  8. well u carry the insurance because u r the parent & im guessing of the 2 u have the better insurance. as u knw medicaid is the last resort & legally i believe that the primary insurance (yours) has to be billed before the medicaid picks up the tab. For example medicaid should only cover wat ur ins doesnt say 20% or watever the case may be. ur ex probably dsnt tell medicaid that ur children have ins so the state thinks u dnt have it, but if & wen they find out they will bill ur ins first & make a note on her medical card saying they have another ins. good luck!
