Question:

Why won't Israel stop construction in the Palestinian territories?

Why doesn't Israel cease it's construction activities in Palestine? Is this how they plan to achieve peace? I am surprised that despite American, British, European, Russian & Arab calls to freeze construction the Israelis are still building in Palestine. As far as I know the only justification for Israel's very existence is the UN, which defined the borders precisely. The UN borders have long been violated by Israel and it continues to violate them. Is this how they hope to achieve peace which they claim to crave for?

  1. No,,,,,,Sir, this is not the way to seek peace.  This is not the way to comfort your enemy or to destroy him.

This is the way people invest in building something so they can have a pleasant and productive life.

It is too bad the Pals can't envision life that way and have for 60 years kept themselves in poverty by refusing to grow and produce.

I think you should get more back ground info before you ask questions then they may have some value.

  2. It is the primary form of an ethnic cleansing agenda. They don't kill Palestinians as often as they used to,they simply reduce them to homelessness as an incentive to vacate their homeland.

  3. Roger, the UN can vote til there is no tomorrow but that does not give any foreign entity a right to dictate what one's government does within its borders.

Britian divided up the Mandate between Jordan and Israel.

The Official Journal of the League of Nations, dated June 1922, contained an interview with Lord Balfour in which he explained that the League's authority was strictly limited. The article related that the "Mandates were not the creation of the League, and they could not in substance be altered by the League."

Israel has a right to create domicile for its residents. The creation of domicile is not illegal.  Is that a real or fake tan?

  4. The U.N. says a lot of things that no one pays attention to. Actually, nations with power tend not to care what the U.N. dictates. The U.N. is all talk, so nations don't feel a need to listen.

You say you "used to think that the conflict was the Palestinians fault", but unless you blame Europe, it's all relative. I think both sides try to undermind the other to make them look like the "bad guys".

(Zeno: Attempting to force people to move  without actually telling them to do it is not genocide. It's sneaky and underhanded, but it's not genocide.)

  5. Israel is the last colonial rule in the world. Settlements policy is the core of the colony.

When they stop that would be the day of the end of the colonial rule.

Israel is not a country with well known borders or even a well known recognized capital. Israel is just a colony that dose not know its future like most former colonies in the world.

  6. To support their "growing" population. Israel has to resort to cheap theatrics and schemes to "encourage" immigration to Israel.. Immigration that is absolutely uneccesary.  Why do they need to flee to Israel?  To avoid persecution from who? Isreal needs to realize that by their encroaching upon Palestinian territories, they are encouraging and asking for violence.  No smart Jew would want to move to these areas.  Maybe that's why the number of people LEAVING Israel is higher than the people going to Israel, even WITH that cash incentive.

  7. I ask myself the same question. Why do they continue moving Israeli civilians to the occupied land?.

They know that they have no right in it and it will never be theirs.

The only answer that come my mind is that "it is a culture thing they  inherited  from their old books"

  8. So, let me get this straight, Israel builds an extra road down an empty hilltop or an empty valley and builds a couple of houses there that do not displace a single Arab then that is viewed as a "major threat to peace"?

Why don't you get some perspective? Even if you think that building them is wrong, in the grand scheme of things that go on there, "settlement building" is not something to be that concerned over. The only reason it is an issue is because it is made an issue. Things like terrorism and the indoctrination of children and young people in the glorification of terrorist agendas is one of the real impediments to peace.
