Why won't Obama do the town hall meeting debates with McCain?

he probably thinks its pointless to reargue the same points they've been expressing over and over. We all know how both candidates feel about the war, healthcare, religion etc.

Obama knows that it only takes one bad debate to finish off a candidate maybe if he drops in the poles significantly we might see him change his mind (a debate causes a candidate to be locked into an answer that may come back to bite him) better with vauge generalities and with sound bites thats what the media likes lot of fluff but no substance
