I made a video with Windows Movie Maker, and when I try to burn it to a DVD, there is no sound.

Why is it doing this??

  1. Does the DVD play OK on your PC?  If it does, it sounds like you've got a picky DVD player.  This might be a problem with the way you've made the DVD though - I don't know Windows DVD Maker, but check for any regional settings you could have got wrong.  MP2 is a valid audio format for PAL DVDs but not for NTSC.

If the DVD doesn't play on your PC, check that the movie itself is OK - you might have muted the audio when you were rendering it (the Save As option in WMM).

  2. Hope you have saved the wmm 'Project'. If so, try to open and run the muvee ... does it have sound?

No sound - problem with source video files...

If it has sounds, cause might be during rendering as mentioned by Iridflare above.

It's best to save the 'project' for checks and suceeding edits.

  3. Windows movie maker and windows DVD maker is very limited on what you can do as far as making a DVD, you will have to get additional software to make a DVD. I prepared a guide with lots of tips on making a DVD from your computer...check it out

  4. You may try other DVD burning softwre. I have the same problem with you when I use windoes movie maker to burn DVD. Then I switch to movavi dvd burner, it works, here is a guide about it
