My laptop ran out of batteries while I was logged into windows. Now when I try to turn it on it just endlessly cycles between the bios and the windows loading screen. It never actually starts. Before this one incident the computer was working perfectly fine. Anyone know how to fix it? I'm using Vista Ultimate.

  1. Start in safe mode.  Then try repairing by reinstalling OS oir restoring to earlier date.

  2. do a restore, throw in ur windows installation CD boot from it, and it should ask u if u want to do recovery, that will replace the core files...

PS: that would be a good time to try out ubuntu linux :P
