Why won't anyone consider adopting? It has changed my life and so far the best thing to happen to me!?

Question

I have 2 biological Identical twins. Samiyah and Sariyah whom are only 5 months old. I have adopted 3 children and I'm in the process of adopting another one. The first baby I adopted was from France. She is 4 years old and I named her Breanna Michelle Sarai. The second child I adopted was a baby boy from Mexico who is about to be 18 months in June. I named him Isaiah Alexander. The third child I adopted was a little girl from south africa whom I've named Assiah Lee Jaunie she is only 2 years old and the last I'm in the process of adopting is a 2 year old adorable little boy from Haiti going to be named Jeremiah Jae. I have a big family and all my children whom I give individual love to have changed my life extremely. I have a purpose in life. Some people ask me what am I trying to accomplish out of adopting all these kids and I say Love. They ask me will I adopt or have more children and say yes. I will never deny a child and their needs. A person I admire is A. Jolie for relating.

I'm adopted and I'm really grateful that my mom adopted me. Next month I will fully adopt two gorgeous twins from Mexico. There names are Mayra & Miriam. I will LOVE them to death. my mom has a saying that goes,"why have a baby when there are allready so many out there that need a mummy."

Isn't it rather pricey to go through the adoption process?  That's the main thing that has kept me from giving it any serious consideration, since I have a few kids of my own already.

some people believe that you should only have bio kids, some believe in only adopting or fostering and some like you and me believe in both.

You are a great person to give these children a home and love and you deserve the best things in life.  I would love to adopt a child in need but my financial situation is not so good right now and I am also pregnant with my 5 th child, so this is why.

I ADMIRE YOU!!!! I have 1 daughter (biological) we plan to have 1 more of our own.. And me and my husband plan to adopt 1-2 maybe more if we have the $$$

Some people have hoarding disorders, and collect children instead of cats/dogs/Hummel figurines.

I am happy for people who adopt for the right reasons, love and wanting to add to their family....but others just scare me.

lots of people that dont have any exposure to adoption feel the child is "damaged, someone elses problem or screwed up", i am an adoptee and have actually had people tell me this. or when i bring up adoption to some they respond with they dont want someone elses throw aways. ridiculious

i think also without the proper knowledge of medical history it is scary to some.

I adopted 2 children.  But what I don't understand is why adopt from another country when there are so many children here who need homes?

i really appciate the way that you are concen about the people who do not have a family and will die for one you are a good person to the ones that care and the one that wont to help others. That right show your concern for the world wish we had more people that will do that.

i tried to talk my mom into it. she thinks its an awesome idea but it would cost more money . most people these days dont have enough of it .

Now, I'm 20 and in college, but I am totally going to adopt as many kids as I can afford and think I can handle.  There are so many kids who need homes, I would feel selfish hatching my own and it doesn't make a difference to me if they are related to me by blood anyway.  Well said.  You rock!

I see where you're coming from. My best friend just adopted a ten year old girl from Columbia. It's a wonderful experience. But for me, I don't want to adopt a lot of kids from foreign countries. It's something that some people love, and I think that's great for them. I really would love to have a family of three or four children someday, and hopefully all would be biological. I also want to adopt babies, or at least a child who is too young to remember. Otherwise the transition is too hard.

Many people can't afford to adopt children, its very expensive.  I think what your doing is great, its your choice and thats great, but others prefer to have their own children, and thats their choice.  Nobody should be judged for their decisions.

Well a lot of people adopt. However adoption is not for everyone, nor is having children for everyone. I applaud you I hope to one day adopt 2 or 3 children myself. Along with 2 or 3 natural children but if I only have adopted that’s fine too.  There was a young couple on my local news 2 years ago bless their hearts they adopted 8 siblings, and they already had 9 children all adopted. They were young too maybe in their 30’s or late 20’s

Adoption can be costly but so are  Fertility treatments. I agree with the original poster in the end once you have your child in your arms the money wouldn’t matter.

There are lots of wonderful people like you. I have never adopted, but my friends aunt has adopted two foster children that are now legally hers and my doctor( family doctor so she also is my doc for my pregnancy and 4 yr olds doc) just adopted a beautiful little girl from Russia. There are others that have big heart like you.
