Why won't he lessen?

Question

I was so in hopes that when my oldest sons 3rd birthday came that we were over the attitude and not lessening! But he is worse now then when he was two! He whines more then our 1yr old and I'm losing my patience!!!! I talk to him all day about the same stuff everyday, he does things that he knows is wrong and he will get into trouble for it and he still does it. We do time out and taking things away like no cartoons or cant play with his trucks for the afternoon, but it doesn't seem to work. He use to be better with my hubby but now hes just as bad with him. He goes to a play group once a week for me to go to class, so he is involved with other kids, ( who are all very well behaved). There's nothing wrong with him, he's in great health and can hear! I just don't know what to do anymore, I know that we have to fix it now cause it will only get worse as he gets older. Any ideas?

Haven't you heard 3 is worse than 2?  I feel your pain - My daughter is going to be 3 in October, and the attitude is growing as we approach her birthday.  You are doing the right thing with time outs & taking away privelages.  You just need to continue to be consistent in your rules and have LOTS of patience.  The phase will pass eventually :)

Have you taken him to his doctor?He can refer you to a good Behavioral Doctor,rather then others telling you to put him on Ritalin.

what did your parents do? Mine whooped my butt. Maybe try that.
