Why won't he talk to me or do i have to say something?

there is this guy i have known since the 8th grade and this my sopmore year . he has never said anything to me until one time i stacked a chair a wrong before we were dismissed from school . since then all he ever does is stare and look , the other day my guy friend chris was messing with me ( he was flirting with me and he is a big flirt). We were play fighing and then my other guy friend michael was being funny and saying he was going to put water in me. He was just watching and plus the other times were when i was listening to music and i dancing a little. back in 8th grade he used to have a crush on me but never spoke to me but all he ever did was look, i have caught him looking .why won't he say anything to me ? he messes with my girl laura but never says hi or anything , whats up with that?

Juss ask him out or take his phone number and call him, he's juss the kind of person who is too scared to be direct and try to hit on you and he never will, and its easy for him to play with ur friend because he doesn't like her. Believe me though he seriously likes you juss ask him and don't tell ur friend to ask for you because he will not answer.
