  1. America will not benefit from drilling on our own land.  They sell our oil to other countries at outrageous prices and continue to buy from everyone else.  So, in the long run, we tear up our land and get nothing in return (except the higher ups getting a pay raise).  That is what I hear, I could be wrong.

  2. it won't do ANYTHING to gas prices...there really isn't enough oil in either of those places to affect anybody's wallet except the oil companies.  we should take today's prices as a blessing, try to become the most innovative country in the world again, and stop using petroleum.

  3. I live in Alaska.

The reason Democrates do not want to drill in Alaska or Off Shore is because the Democratic party wants to be known as the enviromental party.

Never mind the Alaskan pipeline has not spilled a drop in 31 years.  (not counting the guy who shot it in 2004).  Or that back when it was built they had 600,000 caribou and 5,000 polar bears in the area......... now there are 2,000,000+ caribou and 25,000 polar bear......... but the enviromenaltists still want them all made as endangerd.

Never mind if ANWR were a football field the area they want to drill in would be smaller than a postage stamp.

And never mind that ANWR is a knee deep water and mud hole home to only mosquitos.  That pretty picture of ANWR and the caribou you see with the mountains in the background?  That was taken at the edge of ANWR looking at the non-ANWR side.

What makes it the worse - Democrats do not have a better plan.  They don't like anyone elses plan - but - they do not have one of their own.  And people love them for it.  How messed up is that?

  4. The real reason is that we only Own a small part off the coast into these areas and its sort of an international standoff. There are heavy oil reserves and there are a few countries, including the united states, who want to drill there, and there are conflicts on who the reserves belong to.
