Why won't my 1992 Sharp Camcorder work any more?And if you know, how can I fix it?

I was using it one day, took a break, and tried to go and record some more and the thing stopped working. It doesn't even turn on, yet alone record.Please HELP! Thanks in advance.

With a 16 year old camcorder, it could be any number of things: corroded circuits, leaky capacitors, bad battery, motor failure...  It would definitely cost more just to have it checked out than to buy a new one, and a new one would have much better quality and features.
