When i turn the key my car won't start everytime, sometimes it does. All lights come on, just doesn't turn over, doesn't even try. I have to sit there and turn the key some 20 - 30 times before it'll start. I just replaced my ignition switch and that didn't fix my problem. Please tell me why its doing this!!!!!

  1. Sounds like your starter is dead.  Or maybe it's just your solenoid.  The solenoid is on the side of the starter and can usually be replaced without having to buy a whole starter.  Start by replacing the solenoid, after you just check the connections going to it of course!  Then move on to the starter.  You should be hearing a little clicking noise if it is getting power to the solenoid at all.  If you hear the clicking and not starting then the solenoid is probably out.  If you hear no noise then it is probably shot, or the ignition that was installed could actually be bad too!
