Why won't my 3 month old son suck a pacifier?

At 2 weeks old he stopped taking the pacifer but sucks his hand or me or my fiance's arm or fingers. He just stopped one day. We tried the nuk and the kind that has the sports themes. What can we do????

My son only took them for a few days and decided he didn't like them. I'm actually kind of glad he broke himself from it because I won't have to deal with breaking the habit later on. Some babies don't take to them at all, it's no biggie.

He no longer gets a satisfaction out of sucking on the pacifer. It taste much different the skin.

Your lucky. I decided to give my daughter a pacifier because I thought those bling ones where cute and now at 15 months she won't sleep without it.

Seems like he has decided that he doesn't like pacifiers anymore. My son went through the same thing. He's 4 months now and he'll put just about everything in his mouth, but give him a pacifier and he'll spit it out and look at me like I grew another head or something.

It's no use forcing it on him. Trust me, I tried with mine even though I knew I shouldn't. I used different kinds of pacifiers...gave it to him after a feeding, before a feeding. He still doesn't like it. I finally gave up and put them all away for good.

my baby is 16 wks, and  he has never liked the pacifier!  he would much rather suck on his fingers!  don't worry about it, your baby is fine!

Im having the same issue! My daughter is not interested in her pacifier but sucks anything else she can get her mouth around and wants to comfort feed all day long. you can try putting milk on it first. Just make sure its cleaned and sterilised after. This still dosnt work for me but I was told to do it so maybe you will have more luck.

you should be happy! they can be a real pin to get rid of if bubs becomes dependent on one. my son is 3 weeks and hates sucking on a pacifier so i just don't give him one anymore

If he doesn't want them, don't waste your money and buy them. He may not want them any more!

Maybe he just don't like it. Some babies don't want it at all. If he sleeps fine without it then don't worry about it. Just look at it this way at least it's one thing you won't have to wean him off of. :-)

he doesn't like it anymore. don't get him started on the pacifier.  youre not a bad mom or anyting, he just doesnt care for something he doesnt get anything come out of it..

throw the pacifiers away..
