Why won't my BIS work?

i have a white t-mobile blackberry pearl (8100) running os 4.2 and i had my full Blackberry internet service turned on yesterday, and it worked temporarily but now it isn't working anymore. if i switch my browser back to t-zones, it will let me browse with extreme limitations, but won't connect to facebook or yahoo messenger. but i had it connected to both for a short while yesterday evening. and then they just stopped. and if my browser is set to internet browser in stead of t-zones, it says it can't connect at all. wtf?

try pulling the battery out for  20  seconds  and  reset the device.  make sure  your  radio  is turned  on  for  the  connections
