I can't get my verizon DSL to connect. I've contacted verizon they told me my ethernet adapter was bad and their modem was bad, so I have replaced both. I can hook it up to my laptop fine, and I can work wirelessly from the modem. However i can't my desk top to link up to it. the nextwork connection just keeps saying acquiring connection. Is there someone at there that can help me fix this problem. Is there something that could possibly be stoping the connection. it just doesn't make sense. Please help

  1. I would need more information about the computer in order to properly answer this question.

  2. Your cable from the box to your computer could be the wrong one.  There are two types of cable one is class 5 which is a cross over which connects two computers together a class 6 is a straight through which is used for connecting to a modem or router.  It should say which you are using on the cable its self.

Also verizon has its own software it uses to connect a home computer to the network you may need to get the software.  The tech that came in should have done it for you but may not have on that certain computer.
