Question:

Why won't my Ipod show up on Itunes?

I just received an iPod for my birthday and plugged it in for the first time about 15 minutes ago. I'm confused though because no matter how many times I unplug it, then plug it back in, it doesn't show up in iTunes. How can I fix this?

  1. your USB cable might be faulty.

thats what happened to my friend, she got a new cable i think, then it worked. :)

  2. I've had mine for over a year and a half, and yesterday it did that! I still can't get it to show up, and I have new songs I want on it. My ipod knows it's connected because the battery shows the "charged" thing, but my computer can't find it and neither can itunes.

I don't know what's wrong, but anyone knows, answer mine too please!

EDIT: I just found my extra USB cable, and it doesn't work either. It's probably something wrong with the ipod. Since yours is new, you can probably send it back and Apple will replace it.

EDIT: okay I just got mine to work!!! I can't believe I didn't think of this before, but all I did was re-set it (hold down the center and menu buttons at the same time until screen goes black and apple logo comes up). I did this 2x without plugging it up and then plugged it up. It took a few seconds but it came up and worked! Good luck!!=]]]
