Question:

Why won't my Kodak digital camera turn on?

I just bought it today (seriously, I paid for it at the register 5 hours ago). The model is Kodak EasyShare M893 IS. I registered and I installed the software and I charged the battery but nothing happens when I press the power button. I tried pressing it and holding it. I did connect all the cables and attempted to turn it on before I installed the software (which the User Guide said not to do), but I don't believe that that is a veritable reason for its malfunction. Will I have to just return it or is this fixable?

(I already went to the Kodak website and went through the Troubleshooting)

  1. How long did you charge the battery?  Some can take up to two or more hours.

Usually you install the software before you attach any device including cameras although this will usually only effect the software installation, not the camera.

    Start over.

Put the batteries in the charger and make sure the lights are on and showing that the battery is charging.

Insert the battery and memory card in the camera and try turning it on.

Make sure there are no pieces of tape on the cameras lens that was used as protection until purchased

  2. try a different battery. it may be faulty. if not then you will have to return it.
