Why won't my PS3 connect with my Samsung digital camera when I attach it via USB?

I have a 40GB UK PS3 and a Samsung Digimax L85 and I am using the USB cable that was supplied with the camera

Connecting your camera to your computer requires drivers so that your computer knows how to "talk" to the camera. Microsoft Windows already has the drivers to talk with most cameras so that's why it "just works". The PS3, on the other hand, probably doesn't have those drivers preinstalled as it is not meant to be a replacement for a home computer. I'm not sure if there are even drivers to get cameras to work on the PS3 but if there are you'll need to find them and install them.
