Question:

Why won't my PS3 play Blu Rays in Dolby Digital surround sound?

It will play normal DVD's in Dolby Digital but Blu Rays play in Dolby Surround (not digital).

  1. found this suggestion from the playstation forum.

    Under BD settings on the PS3, set the optical audio output to Bitstream instead of Linear.

    Now my BD are full surround sound.
