Question:

Why won't my Sansa Fuze work on Sansa Media Converter???

Recently I bought a 4 gig Sansa Fuze, it's supposed to be able to play up to 6 hours of video. I followed all of the instructions, and downloaded the Sansa Media Converter. Now i'm trying to get a wmv. file to convert onto my Fuze, I've followed tutorials and instructions, but it won't work! Here's my problem, every time I click convert the normal bar pops up, it says "converting file" and gives me a percentage thing, then there is a second bar that says "all files". I'm only trying to convert one file, and i'm sure everything is plugged in correctly. But every time the top bar reaches 100% the bottom bar freezes at 49%. I've tried uninstalling it once, and installing it again, but it doesn't work! It has worked for shorter videos like 3 minutes long. But the one i'm trying to upload is 24 minutes long. I've tried shortening the video to 10 minutes long, but the same problem still happens. Is there any other software out there that will work with my Sansa?? If there is i'll need step-by-step instructions. Please help me!!!

  1. Hey...I just bought the Sansa Fuze 4GB yesterday and I love it! When I tried uploading videos to it, I had the same problem as you did with it freezing at 49%. This was frustrating me, so I did some research and found out that you have to use another program to encode the file first, then you have to use Sansa Media Converter to transfer it to the Fuze. I downloaded a program called Any Video Converter (It's free):

    http://www.download.com/Any-Video-Conver...

After you install the program, add the video you want to upload to the Fuze to the list, and make sure the drop-down next to "Profile:" is set at "Customized MP4 Movie (*.mp4)". After you upload the file and choose the correct option in the drop-down box, click on the Encode button. Depending on the video size, it will take the appropriate amount of time to encode. Once encoding is completed, you can locate the file by looking at the left hand side of the program and towards the bottom, you'll see an icon called "Output Folder". Click on that icon, and you'll see the encoded file. You can keep it in that file or you can drag and drop that file to the Desktop (I drag it to the Desktop so it will be easier to locate). After locating the file, open up Sansa Media Converter and add that file you just encoded. Once you add the media file, connect your Fuze and click Convert! The conversion may take some time, depending on the file size. The smaller the size, the faster (obviously). But once Sansa Media Converter has converted it, it should have uploaded the video to the Fuze and you're good to go! Also, another tip: In the Any Video Converter program, if you want to upload any video clips from YouTube or Google Video to your Fuze, you can do so by clicking on the YouTube icon on the top and copy and paste the URL link to the field. Once you paste the link, click the Ok button and encode! Follow the steps above and you should be enjoying YouTube clips on your Fuze! Hope this helps!!

  2. Here is a step by step guide to rip DVD and convert any videos to other video formats and audio formats for iPod touch/classic/video/nano, iPhone, Zune, PSP, video capable MP3 players, etc. Meanwhile, it can also support output almost any audio/video format including Video format (H264, MP4, WMV, AVI, MOV, RM, 3GP, flv, SWF, mpeg-1, mpeg-2, VCD, SVCD, DVD, etc.) and Audio format (AC3, AAC, MP2, MP3, MP4, RA, WMA, etc.). It is easy-to-use and the converting speed is fast!
