Why won't my Sony Bravia LCD TV accept commands from my Cable TV box remote controller?

I've entered the code but it still doesn't work.

I used the "code detect" feature which gave me 0047 (counting the blinks). I entered this code but the TV (Sony Bravia) still doesn't accept commands from the remote.

Try other codes listed in the remotes booklet. Are you hitting the TV button before you try to control the tv?

Have you Replaced the Batteries In the Remote?

EDIT: Thanks Chi.  Sometimes the Batteries Are Very Cheap, and Degrade On the Shelf, Can't Handle Load.
