I recently connected an old surround sound system (str-de-425). I connected my dvd/vcr combo and it's working great. I cannot however get my LCD audio to work. I have connected the audio out L/R to the TV/DBS audio in on the receiver. I had a friend recheck my connections just to be sure. I tried disabeling the internal speakers but that didn't work either. Are LCD Tv's different? Please help, this is driving me crazy!!

  1. Does the TV have a menu that lets you control which inputs it uses? Perhaps you have to switch the television from HDMI input to a combination of analog audio input and some kind of video input.

  2. your tv may have an option called fixed audio and it will not allow sound to come from your tv and to  an external source check the menu on your tv
