Question:

Why won't my avatar change in YA?

I have tried to change my avatar in my YA profile. I have the option of using my 360 picture, but it won't show it. I have the picture I want as my primary selected yet nothing has changed. Does the avatar have to be a certain size? I've selected a picture saved it and have tried restarting my pc and nothing. Any suggestions or tips. Looking to use Yoda as my avatar if that helps.

  1. I have had the same problem these last few days. It knocked my uploaded picture off. I have tried everything to get it to load Ive been into the settings and everything but to no avail. I have had to revert back to my avator which I'm not to happy about lol !! :)

Heres a link you may find interesting about this subject on the Yahoo suggestion board http://suggestions.yahoo.com/detail/?pro...

  2. er, yeah, it does have to be a certain size. the next time you go change your avatar again, try clicking on a help/question/what's this?/yadda yadda link, i'm pretty sure that there's one on there...

  3. Go to ur yahoo mail account and change ur avatar I mean modify it or whatever and then save it so when u open YA ur avatar will be changed......

    Good Luck.......:)

  4. This is nothing you are doing wrong.

Yahoo going through transition to getting the new net work ready and this is causing major bugs in some of their services. And even Q&A will see some changes. After all the photo setting in answer profile will not be called yahoo 360 photo.

So these transition are making the system run a little slow and may take some time to show the changes. We need to keep trying to work around these bugs for a time yet but l hope the new network will get here fast.

This is the Yahoo360 Team Blog

This will tell you about the transition and why some bugs are not being fixed.

    be JPEG files.

be less than 5MB in size.

not include contact information, your name, or other text in the image.

not contain adult-oriented content or nudity.

not contain obscene or objectionable content.

  5. There currently is a delay, when there usually is not. There is not nothing really anyone can do except alert the Y/A staff and wait. See my past answer on this subject here:

UPDATE: The latest word is that it's taking 3 to 4 days for the image to show up this time. Again, be patient. But it looks like Yoda has shown up! Congratulations.
