Why won't my boat motor start?

The spark plugs are clean, battery is good, the engine cranks but there is no spark when I try to start it. When the boat used to run, it didn't run very well (didn't always start & didn't seem to be using all it's RPM's ). Now it just doesn't start at all...

check your coils that may be your problem

When you say "no spark", I assume that means you checked for a spark with an inline tester, or by holding a plug against the engine block?

I can give you some troubleshooting tips, but I need to know what make, year and horsepower?
