Question:

Why won't my burned CD's play in my car stereo?

Thing is, any CD I burn with a new computer (within a few years) will not play in my car, but older burned CD's (some from the 90's) do play. Also, if I use my older computer (5 years old) the CD will play. This is using the same CD brand and type, so that is not the issue. I've also tried buring at a slower speed. I've also used windows media and ITunes. All this works on older computers but not new. ?

  1. I ran across something like this, too.  I use Nero and there are some obscure check boxes on some tabs and dialog boxes that you have to check in order to make the burned CDs compatible with older CD players.

Go through all of the settings for your burning software and see if there isn't something like that -- some radio button or check box -- to make them compatible.  It might be labled something like ISO standard (then a bunch of numbers of the standard).

    Good luck.
