Why won't my burned cds play on my cd player?

I can't get the music Cd's I burn using my laptop to play on my cd player. It used to work but now even though it says they have burned, they just won't play...any ideas?

Some cd players, will not support mp3 format..

Make sure you are burning them in audio format not data. I had that same problem. Go to windows media player and click burn and you should find it.

maybe u have burned an mp3 cd, and you cd player is not mp3??

check your cd burner settings,

You have to burn the disk as a Music CD. This type allows around 13 tracks to be on the disk, this then allows CD players to read and play the music.

You can't have the music burnt onto a File Disk where you can have like 150 songs on the 700MB space.

You can do this however if you have, whats known as a MP3 CD Player.

Your CD player probably cannot play mp3 files (burned music is usually in the mp3 format).

-Try new software, Nero is the best for burning, try the link below.  It is a trial.  Also check to see if the CD plays in other cd players and narrow it down to whether it is the cd player or the burner.  If it is the cd player you need a new one.  If it is the burner start with the software and if it still doesnt work you need a new drive in the laptop.  If you need more help let me know.

Generally a regular CD Player accepts and is able to play 3 formats, i.e mp3 songs (Audio), Video CD (Video), Audio cds( Selected as Audio CD while Burning the CD itself).

So if you chose some other option other than Audio, Video, and if the files in the CD are not all mp3's then the CD player is not going to play your burnt CD.

To make a Video CD, Select the Option of Making a Video CD in the first step of burning, or else, if your player is just an mp3 Audio player, select all your files to be written on to the CD are mp3 files, or else Burn it as an Audio CD.
