I have a 2003 Ford Mustang and it won't go into any gear, if the car is on or off. The clutch is fine. Anyone know what this could be?

  1. Wiggle the steering wheel.  The gearshift is probably locked by the ignition interlock, which also locks the steering wheel.  Also, try depressing the brake and clutch pedals.

  2. Check you clutch fluid, which is dot-3 brake fluid.  Maybe you all out, that would solve the problem after up pump you clutch pedal.  If that doesn't work take it to get checked out it could be more serious. Also, you just said it will start.   Even if the clutch is burnt up it would still start.  I just recently replace my clutch.  It would slip out of gear from time to time right before it went out.

  3. How do you know the clutch is fine? Does the stick move at all? ( It is a manual transmission correct? ) Either the linkage has been damaged, the clutch or it's mechanics, hydraulic or otherwise, has failed, or the transmission is damaged. It could just be a s***w came loose either in the trans or the linkage. Time for a tow.
