Why won't my computer recognize my w850i as an external drive?

I've done exactly as the manual told me, but it just says to insert a drive for it.

Should I buy sony's overpriced company memory card? I mean, I don't think I need it, save for the extra space.

which windows are u running....

Hey, I have the same phone and had the exact same problem.

Make sure you are putting the phone in file transfer mode if you are using my computer for transferring files.

If this still doesn't work, you need to go to www.sonyericsson.com to download the software for the phone and use their file manager, which is quite a large file to download and install.
