Question:

Why won't my cricket eggs hatch?

I heard that unfertilized females will only lay sterile eggs that won't hatch but is that true? I've only kept females and I assumed that they mated before I caught them in the wild. They laid eggs last November/December and since then I've been giving them water to keep it moist. I wonder what I did wrong..

  1. Cut it open, just for curiosity's sake then check out this site:

Seems to have some good info and from what I read there your eggs aren't going to hatch.  Good luck next time.

  2. you should bury those eggs under normal soil and put a heating lamp over the soil keep the soil a little bit moist.

  3. do not cut it open, although they probably are dead if yo didnt put them under a heating light,i suggest waiting about 3-5 more days and if they dont hatch...then bury them in a grave or..just toss um out and try again
