Why won't my dryer heat up?

it runs but don't get hot, I have cleaned all the vents out

  1. Your dryer has two sensors. One tells the heating unit to heat up the other tells it to shut off.  These are cheaper to replace then the heating unit itself.  First buy the sensor that tells the unit to heat up.

    Open the back and it will tell you which one.


  2. Heating element probably burned out. I'm assuming it is electric, not gas. This is pretty common for electric dryers. A new one averages around $30.00 or so. Pretty easy to change usually. Ebay is a good source for replacement.

  4. Sounds like the heating element is out of it. You can get one for about 30.00-40.00. Simple to put in.
