I bought a spider man dvd in russia but the whole thing is in english anyway.

I watched it on the computer fine and my dvd player works fine on any other disc. But when i put this dvd in (which again i bought in a different country.) it says:

"playback is prohibited because of limitations."

Is it not gonna work on my dvd player because i didn't buy the movie in america? (i live in america and i bought my dvd player in america too btw.)

  1. Depending on the make and model of your dvd player, it may be possible to program it to play discs with other region codes. The best resources is www.videohelp.com.

Care must be taken because if you make a mistake  you could render the dvd player inoperable.

  2. it won't work i'm afraid american dvd players only play region one discs. likewise a russian couldn't play an american dvd over there. the reason it works in your computer is because most computers automaticly switch there region setting to read the disc. unless your dvd player has a setting to change it's region code (which it probably won't) you won't be able to play the disc.
