Why won't my eye stop twitching?

My left eyelid will NOT stop twitching. is there any reason for that? and can i stop it?

  1. It could be lots of things, but one thing I have noticed, is that soft drinks do this. And it's not the caffein.

    There is something in them that does something wacky to your nervous system.

    Try quitting, and I'll bet you it goes away.

    It's basically fatigue or stress, but the response to the correct advice "Try to get more sleep and cultivate a more relaxed lifestyle."

    can be "Fat chance!" or something even ruder.

    In some people there is an association with marginally reduced potassium levels: try drinking fresh tomato juice or, if you don't like that, the second choice is eating bananas.

  3. Stress is typically the biggest reason. Fatigue and caffeine can contribute to it, but you can be tired and jacked up on coffee, but at peace with the world and not have a twitch.
