I have just bought a tv with built in freeview. I have an aerial socket in the room and have bought an aerial lead and a booster aerial. However this still doesn't seem to pick up many channles. I know I have coverage in my area. When it does pick up a few channels its a great picture but just don't understand why it wont pick up many channels?

  1. I had to do the auto tune a couple of times before it got the idea of what was available.   And I have to retune at least once a month.  Digital is not as stable as analogue.

  2. have you got an outside aerial. these are a must to receive freeview in most areas

  3. sometimes you gotta wait a few days to pick everything up,u'l get there.

  4. You need a wide-band aerial and booster. Older equipment does not support all the frequencies that freeview uses. You may need a new aerial

  5. Some times it can be the weather.... the normal channels like 1,2,3,4,5 and bbc1,2 and 3 should all work all the time.......... if they arent either take it back because it could be the box or see if there is a helpline number.... Are you sure freeview is available in your area? you can check by going onto this website  http://www.freeview.co.uk/availability Good luck x

  6. use linux instead

  7. call the people get them to send over a satellite person to fix it. it could be your ariel. there could be a loose connection somewhere in the cable running through your house, check your loft etc

we dont get channels 3, 4, e4 (we get e4+1 tho) downstairs but we do upstairs
