Why won't my gameboy color, turn on?

When I plug my gameboy color into the wall, it turns on but when I put brand new batteries in it, it doesn't work. Help me plz!

the battery case on ur gameboy is broke. fixed it at shop you bought.

Check the battery contacts. They may be corroded or misaligned, and not making a good electrical path. Try rubbing the battery clips with a small eraser, or cotton swab with some rubbing alcohol on it to clean them.
