She had a eye infection so the vet gave her pink medicine. I gave her all of it and her eyes still goopy so he gave her some eye stuff in a tube for 10 days and it didn't work so he gave her eye drops and they didn't work either. Why won't her eyes get better? What else can the vet do? Will my kitten go blind?

  1. she's tired of looking at you

  2. you need to take her to the vet again. or she will end up with more problems as its obviously not getting better. even try a different vet for a second opinion.

    good luck

  3. That's so sad! Keep checking in with the vet. Some kittens have problems like that, especially if she was a stray or feral. There are other medications out there though. Good luck!

  4. Has the vet suggested running any tests?  Ask about a Feline Herpes test for your kitty.  Your kitten's eyes will not have to be removed. You just need to find the cause of the infection and the right medicine.

  5. I'm going to be frank. Your kittens eye probably will not get better, it is common for hurt or sick kittens to not get over these ailments. Surgery will most likely be immanent, your cats eye will have to be removed and bandaged, I am deeply sorry

  6. It can take more than one round of antibiotic to clear up stubborn infections.  And if it's not a bacterial infection, the antibiotics won't help at all.  It's very common for kittens to have a herpes eye infection - that's related to the virus that causes cold sores in humans.  Ask your vet to test for herpes, and also to give you a L-lysine paste for her.  That's an immune system booster, and is very helpful in helping cats to ward of the virus.
