Why won't my new computer download Safari or Firefox?

Question

I have a new Dell Inspiron 1525 and whenever I try to download Safari or Firefox, the download box never finishes and the internet window does not respond. My computer is very slow and I don't know why. How can I download Safari or Firefox completely? Are there any other Internet programs? If so, what are they and where can I find them?

if u are looking for a good internet explorer ,then i usually use avant browser

Persuade someone else to download and burn a Ubuntu liveCD, try to boot your Dell from that - I think you'll find your laptop is very nice and very fast, you just have the wrong kind of OS installed.

Probably because Windows Vista is a pain and sometimes won;t let you download certain stuff. You should install Windows XP. If you need help, e-mail me.
