Why won't my new ink cartridge work?

I have a Lexmark X3430 printer and I just bought a new ink cartridge.

It's Lexmark Ink #1 and on the box, it said it was compatible with printers of Lexmark X3430 Series, but when i place the ink cartridge in my printer it said it was an incorrect cartridge.

Help?

  1. you have the wrong cartidge did you take the tape off?

    go back and get the right one that it call for not one that says its campatable with it  


  2. Looks like you have the wrong one. I think you need a #24, at least that what Walmart says. Here is a link for you.
