Just bought an under the cabinet tv with an "astc" tuner. When i try to auto or manual program it, it says no channels found, even though the coax cable is hooked up and working from my cable company. How do I fix this problem so i can finally watch tv in my kitchen?

  1. My feelings exactly!!!

  2. ATSC Tuner is for off-the-air digital transmission

For cable you need a QAM tuner. Most TVs do have NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners, but some don't.

Do a channel scan and specify "cable" (not ANT).  If there is no such option, maybe it does not have a QAM tuner - check the specs in the user manual.

  3. ATSC is the modulation and coding format for the over-the-air TV transmitters (what you get with an antenna). It is not used for cable. The equivalent for cable is QAM (with a few other standard laid on top) and it tends to need a cable box to receive.
