Question:

Why won't my scooter start?

It's a 2 stroke, 50cc scooter that I bought new a year ago. I replaced it with a fresh battery about a month ago.

I haven't used it in maybe 4 days, but I don't think that should be a problem. I looked in the gas tank with a flash light and it looks to be a blueish color, almost the same as the oil, is that normal?

I'm probably going to call the store I got it from tomorrow if i can't get this fixed, but I'd like to do it on my own if at all possible.

Thanks, if you need any more description please ask!

  1. If it's a 2 stroke then you have to add oil to the fuel and that is why it looks blue. I would try changing the spark plug or at least pull it out and check for spark. On 2 cycle motors it is common for the plug to foul easily

  2. I don't know anything about scooters but maybe the battery burnt out, like regular AA batteries do and when they get old they leak and get crusty. Yeah, I think you should call the store.
