Why won't my sidekick LX send text messages and why does it keep delaying my text messages?

I have the Sidekick LX and i recently upgraded it with the OTA upgrade. My sidekick keeps delaying my text messages. I would get them 4hours or later. And whenver I try to send a text message it won't send. Please help me.

do you have a g symbol at the top right corner

or you don't have any signal

i have a all black sidekick 3 but iam don't have the gprs yet the sidekick unlimited and it wont let me get on the internet or email yet so yea

do you have a the sidekick package for texting and stuff? maybe thats why it wont workkk.
