Why won't my songs go into the itunes library!?

So I have music on my computer from my friend.. and they're in my music folder but when I drag them into the itunes library... some of them won't go in it.. even if I open them with itunes it just won't play them... and it can't be the file type because the other songs are of the same file type.. any help!?

Are they songs your friend downloaded from iTunes?  If so they are copyright protected, and won't allow you to put them on your copy of iTunes.
