Why won't my sunscreen apply smoothly on my face?

After I apply sunscreen there are small white bumps that become visible on the surface of my skin. When I try to rub in the sunscreen to smooth my skin the bumps peel off and become worse. I am positive that they are not pimples. I think that it might be dry skin, but my mom told me that it could be that I don't wash my face well enough so the soap is causing my skin to look uneven when I apply the sunscreen.

I use Aveeno spf 70 in the morning and when I reapply my sunscreen, I use Aveeno spf 55.

How do I get rid of the bumps and any suggestions on how to wash all the sunscreen off my face?

  1. Exfoliating your face regularly will help get rid of the build up of dead skin cells and stuff; it'll also make your skin more radiant.

I would also try an oil free sunscreen.  Sunscreen should not be interfering that much with your regular face routine.

  2. try washing your face with a scrub like from clean and clear that is good for daily use, this will remove built up skin and dirt so the sunscreen will go on more evenly. if this doesn't work maybe its the sunscreen try using a different brand (one labeled hypoallergenic)and see if that helps
