Why won't my toilet flush after it rains heavily?

  1. your waste pipe is blocked and the extra rain water is backing up


  2. normally, you have a sanitary sewer where all your plumbing fixtures drain into, and storm sewer where rainwater only drains. Some areas have combination sewer where both use same drain. During heavy rain, sewer can't handle both.

  3. If your home has a septic system, the tank is full. If your hooked into town sewer, call the township.
