Why won't my wireless network work?

I recently installed a router to my cable modem and wanted to see if it picks up on my iPod iTouch and it does get full signal, but when i try to surf the net it stops responding what's wrong? Is the IP address or subnet mask not right.

actually viruses dont spread within your core network wires and stuff.  it sounds like you are having an issue with your modem.  do you have a pc attached?  if so then see if it works with the router and the modem. the reason that your ipod works is because it can get a local signal from the router, but when you try to surf it is not connecting to the internet.  go to your routers settings and make sure that DHCP is turned on. good luck

The reason your "wireless network" won't work is because a virus has gone into the Core Network the inner wriring of your computer and will spread through the Internet as it did your computer.....
