Why won't my youtube channel update?

everytime i update it says i updated but the channel is still the same after i return to it.

allow six hours for your channel to change. be sure you hit the save all changes button.

it takes a while for it to be visible, but it shows up after about 3 hours later, the say six, but its always a half hour to 3 and a half hours.
