Why won't my zune show that I have a video on my computer?

I have a dvd that I converted to avi. but it won't show the video. I thought avi was a format zune supported. So why won't it show up?

Zune only supports the follow video formats:

Windows Media Video (.wmv)

MPEG4 video (m4v, .mp4, or .mov)

H.264 video (.m4v, .mp4, or .mov)

First ,you need  video converter to help you to convert your movies to to Zune WMV,  MP4, MPEG4 video files.

I recommend you to use iskysoft Video Converter.

And then,You need the zune softeare to help you transfer wmv video to zune player. If you don't know  

how to do that, follow these steps

1. install zune software, you can download it from here for free

2. plug in your zune player to computer

3. drag the wmv video to zune library

4. click "start sync" to sync your zune. OK.

It won't show because Zune doesn't support avi. It supports wmv and it converts mpeg-4. I suggest converting the video to wmv with a resolution no larger then 320x240. Then save the converted file in whatever folder you have Zune monitoring for videos. The Zune program will find it there and import it into the collection and you can sync it to your Zune.

Zune reads mp4, wmv, so you must convert your video to those formats, I always use aimersoft zune convertr suite, it can easily convert dvd video to zune with high quality, that's really nice, you can check it out here for free:

After conversion finished. Run Zune software, connect your Zune device to computer via USB cable, then the Zune software will detect your Zune player. Drag the converted video to Zune software and click “Start to sync”, then your video will be transferred to Zune.
