Why won't office let me write anything?

yea. delay your PC clock a year. set it to year 2007 instead of 2008

restart office and enjoy typing

Most likely trial period expired, did you purchase the licence ?

My word is like this and it means you have to buy the software or use a different kind.  I use wicrosoft works...

You have an expired trial version. Buy the licence and it will work again. Changing the PC clock will cause you to lose many services ion the internet. It will probably not solve this problem.

Yes as people have said it's most likely due to the fact that your trial period has expired. It is no good changing your clock back because it will make no difference, if you resort to things like this you have to backdate the clock BEFORE expiry date but even so I think Microsoft are now on top of all those little tricks.
