I hope thats phrased correctly.

Its about the deal that Pres. Bush was trying to pass today, but the idiotioc Democrats that think they know everything said NO.

I thought this whole time it was the Republicans that were filling there pockets up with the revenues.

Now we don't know who to beleive.

Its getting ridicilous.

Thanks for letting me vent!

  1. Because they are maintaining the high prices for the big oil companies.

  2. Because it would benefit the GOP. And that is a bad thing for Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. They want things to get as bad as possible so as to place their man in the White House.

Pelosi and Reid are just playing hardball politics. Hope they don't get re-elected but nobody knows much about politics except the corrupt politicians.

  3. offshore drilling is horrible. we need to start using alternative energy sources. we are at $4 dollars a gallon, thats never geting any lower. it will probably just keep going up. the major oil companies love it. so offshore drilling isn't going to make the prices go down. so why start?

  4. Look we use about 20-25% of the oil produced in the world, even if the USA drilled all of its oil it would only account for 6% of the global market, meaning it would do nothing. The republicans are trying to say this will bring down prices, but it really wont. The country needs to start putting more money into alternate fuels. Even George W. Bush has stated that if drilling was allowed off shores and in the Alaskan Wilderness, it would take 2-3 years to build the infrastructure to do it. In that same time we could be putting money into alternate fuels and instead of using a little oil produced in the USA and still being heavily relient on the Middle East, we could become completely free of Middle East oil.

I hate paying this much for oil also, I mean I love driving my car up into mountains and because of prices I have not been able to do that as much, barely being able to pay to get to college and work, but drilling in the Arctic and offshores is not the solution. Our politicians both Democrat and Republican have gotten us into this problem, to be honest we are all to blame because we elect them and by the things we as consumers choose to buy we dictate what companies make. Since there is no short term solution and either way it will take a while to fix this problem, shouldnt we at least invest our money into a more long term solution instead of a quick fix that will take years for us to see if we see it at all? I feel for you paying at the pump I feel it also, but lets make a good choice and not a rash one that wont help us long term.

  5. Partially because of the popularity of the lobbies in Washington. Our "Green Freak" lobbyists have money behind them and will push until the money runs out. That is what has stopped drilling in Alaska, off shore in Florida and the Gulf, off the East and West coasts as well as within the contiguous 48 states.

This is not just Democrats either. It is every congressman or woman that has fallen for the line that these lobbies have spewed or pushed. Just look at how "popular" it is today to "go green."  Never mind that the contents of those cute little compact fluorescent lights can land you in the hospital.

Why won't our government allow drilling? We've fallen for a theory based on the possible ..... not facts.

  6. Sounds as if you have answered this to your own satisfaction, want to come here to rant about it and get all your little McSamees to glom on. Well, sorry, I can't help you with that. No matter what happens here on, even of you find 400,000,000,000,000 barrel in your own back yard, the major oil companies have tasted $4 a gallon gas, and we ain't ever goin' back. That's a false hope help out by the desperate candidate McSame/Bush3. You may not know it, but 74% of us do.

  7. There are 10,000 unused oil leases including the Naval Petroleum Reserve that could be used and aren't. Oil companies should start using them. Your anger is misplaced.

  8. For one, the enviromental lobby is very rich and very influential in the Democratic Party so the Democrats and some Republicans worried about their clout have prevented it.  The envirolobby is on record of stating that they want gasoline prices much higher then they are now.  In addition, many states feel that it would hurt them economically due to less tourism (in sight of land).

Basically, the Democratic Party cares more about large money infusions then the welfare of the USA.

  9. There are two prohibitions on offshore drilling, one imposed by Congress and another by executive order signed by Bush's father in 1990. Bush's brother, Jeb, fiercely opposed offshore drilling when he was governor of Florida. What the president now proposes would rescind his father's decision — but the president took the position that Congress has to act first and then he would follow behind.

  10. pisssst...... don't tell everyone its the democrats. They will hunt you down and tell you where to stick it. They will never realize how bad they have made this country only for their political gains. and personal money...

  11. The problem is that there are now too many countries willing to pay more money for the short supply of oil we have.

In many countries people are paying $10-12 per gallon for gasoline. Nowhere in Europe is gas less than $8.00 per gallon.

Our problem is that we have been dropping our production not increasing it. We have been consuming more and more every year without looking for now sources. We have just used up  whats been available. Now China and Korea, even India are sucking up oil as fast as they can. Even if we start drilling tomorrow in Alaska and offshore, and actually "FIND" some new oil,  it will be 8-10 years before we may see any relief--if we do then.

In the USA we have and still are waisting what little energy we can get.

We can make ethanol--and enough of it to make a big difference--but it will not be as cheap as gasoline is today. At least with ethanol...all the profits stay here.

  12. Because the democrats are scared of the enviormental lobby and their money. The dems up for re-election would possibly lose the cash that the tree hugger could bring to the table. They're bending over for these groups and enjoying every minute of their idiocracy.

I really wish these stupid ^&%$# would realize the benefit of GW's plan. This is partisan politics at its best and we're all seeing a repeat of Jimmy Carter in the making.

WAKE THE %^&$ UP, PEOPLE! Please, these people are ruining the economy for our future generations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Ben Stein on the radio factor said today that he had just spoke with a room full of speculators that were laughing their rear ends off as to just how much they were manipulating the price of oil.

OK so if we began drilling off the shore the oil would merely go into the global market (not into the American economy exclusively) and would mostly likely benefit China and India and of course the Oil speculators whom would have even more oil to sell making them even more profit.
