Why won't people realize that Universal Healthcare is just getting someone else to pay for your bad health?

bugrrl3, I sympathise with you & those not able to afford their care. And lets say people who have lived in a healthy way, too. I don't say s***w them. You're Christian and care about these people. A very moral response. We should help them. That should be our choice, not one forced on us by gov't - the gov't should not decide our morals. That is the reposibility of our religion and beliefs.

The reality is too many people take advantage of the system. And the gov't does not do anything well. They should get out of the health care biz.

And unfortunately, those with money will get better care than those with out as in most of life.

  1. If you don't have health care at all, why would you care.

The real problem is people with jobs who could might be able to afford a private plan on their own but decide cable TV, cell phone service and high speed internet is more important.

Once someone promises those people won't get free care I'm open to ideas on some very basic care.

  2. Precisely. They must not realize that taxes WILL have to be raised in order to provide this type of health care.  Socialized health care abroad, from what I have heard, is in danger of going bankrupt within the next few years because there just aren't enough tax dollars being put into it to support it.  When the money runs out, they will have to raise taxes even more.  This sort of thing will severely harm the economy.

But there are always people out there who are looking for a free ride and say **** all to how we are actually going to PAY for it.

  3. people are stupid

  4. Because

    1. People want something for nothing

    2. They won't take responsibility for themselves for health or finances to prepare for healthcare costs or retirement

    3. They are stupid. I mean why else would the Democrats be so popular and strong?

  5. Because children should be valued and protected.  Some people realize that there is an imbalance between the have's and have nots, but this is meaningless and slanted for people who assume everyone who doesn't have health insurance is some kind of illiterate, welfare scum bag who's too lazy to work.

That's a nice boxed world to live in and I'm sure it makes some of you feel better about yourselves to think that way, but you are seriously rotten to the core.  In the back of your mind I know you're afraid one day it will happen to you.

Think about people.  What would you do if you needed an expensive procedure to save your life?  There you are in the ER.  No health insurance... Now what?

Guess what happens.  You get saved anyway because those folks in the ER aren't going to let you die because you can't pay.  They're going to eat the cost and pass it on to the hospital - guess who pays for that?

So you can pay on the front side or the flip side.  Sarcastically I have to say it's real encouraging that some of you idiots would rather politicize and live in a disgusting fantasy world rather than live like true American Christians.  Your hearts our closed and your analyses so skewed it should be considered evil.  I think Jesus would be all in favor of universal healthcare - it's like we adopt a Christian principle for this country:  We're going to help anyone who needs help and d**n the torpedoes we're going to do it right.

Cus the argument that "it doesn't work in other countries" is total BS and debatable.  But unimportant... because this is America and we can figure out a way to do it right.  Duh.

  6. The rich stay healthy.  The sick stay poor.

You question implies that someone's bad health is always their own fault.  So a child who has leukemia deserves it?  A woman who gets breast cancer deserves it?  A man who has inherited heart disease deserves it?  They're sick and you're not, so s***w 'em?  Is that your line of reasoning? It's OK to you that their families go bankrupt and they lose their homes because they can't pay their out of control medical bills?  I guess if you think that way then vote Republican and pray to God you never fall ill.

I'm a Christian and I don't think it's right to have an "every man for himself" mentatlity about this.  We're supposed to help the sick and the poor, not sneer at them and kick them to the curb and tell them they're on their own.  We're all in this together, folks.  We're supposed to be our brother and sister's keepers.

  7. You are so right. I investigated Medicaid & Medicare Fraud for 28 years & saw thousands of Cases where the Providers ( Doctors ) & Recipients ( Patients ) both stole hundreds of millions of dollars from the government by billing for services that were  never rendered.

I once saw a woman with 21 different Medicaid Cards with 21 different ID #s with 21 different names ALL with her photo on them.

I saw " Healthcare " that was so bad that I would not expose my dog to it.

I arrested a Dentist in Bronx, NY whose Office was open for 2 hours ( 10 am-12 noon ) per day. This Dentist arranged for gypsy cabs to drive 40 different drug addicted medicaid recipients from homeless shelters, etc. to his Office every day. The Dentist would pay each patient 10 dollars + x-ray their mouth and then bill medicaid for  the same $ 350 worth of ficticious dental work that he never actually performed on each patient.

For 18 months, until he was arrested, this Dentist received a check from Medicaid for $ 13,500 per day.

I posed as an ( undercover ) Medicaid or Medicare Recipient well over a thousand times & once was in another Dentist's Office in Bronx, NY where the new Dental Hygenist remarked:

" Doctor......You are not sterilizing any of the instruments that you use on different Patients "

This Dentist ( who happened to be a slightly built fragile looking female ) replied " What do you care ?  They are all junkies with AIDS & they are going to die anyway "

Lucky this Dentist was a woman because the Grand Jury was ready to castrate her when they heard this undercover recording.

    SO MUCH FOR UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE

  8. It's a horrible process... I have military healthcare and even going to the emergency room, it takes about an hour to get any attention from a doctor. Taxes are raised and you do pay for other's healthcare. If the whole country had universal healthcare the hospitals would be to congested, and those in need of serious medical attention would be put on a waiting list.
